How to Enable Hidden Developer Options on realme Phones
Table of Contents

Based on Android, realme UI, embedded on realme phones, comes with the Developer Options feature by default. Developer Options itself can usually be used by app developers to develop their apps because it provides more access to features and functions that are usually hidden on realme phones.
To prevent unauthorized users from tampering with the features in Developer Options, the feature itself is hidden. Therefore, you can enable Developer Options using the following steps.
How to Enable Developer Options on Older realme Phones
- Open the Settings app on your realme phone
- Select the About Phone menu
- Click the Baseband & Kernel Version option
- Tap the Build Number seven times
- If successful, a notification will appear saying "You are now a developer!"
- Return to the main Settings page
- Click the Additional Settings menu
- Then, enter the Developer Options menu
Please note that the menu layout for displaying Developer Options will differ between older and newer realme phones.
How to Enable Developer Options on a New realme Phone
- Access the Settings app on your realme phone.
- Click the About Phone menu.
- Select the Version option.
- Tap the Version No. option 7 times.
- If successful, a "You are now a developer!" notification will appear.

The refresh rate will then appear automatically in the upper left corner of the screen. When you lock the screen refresh rate to 120Hz, the number 120 will appear on the screen.
The same applies when you lock the refresh rate to 60Hz, 90Hz, or 144Hz. However, if you use the Auto Refresh Rate feature, the refresh rate will change depending on the content currently displayed on the screen. When developing applications, you can usually enable USB debugging (Security settings) through Developer Options so that applications created on a laptop can be tested directly on a mobile phone.
You can even configure commands to be automatically executed when your phone is connected to a computer via a USB cable, such as File Transfer, USB Tethering, MIDI, Transfer Photos (PTP), or No data transfer.
Given its vital function, the Developer Options feature is hidden by default to prevent unauthorized users from tampering with it. Therefore, you must be careful when making settings and changes to features in Developer Options.
