Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Review: Powerful Performance Meets Elegant Foldable Design

Xiaomi officially launched its latest foldable phone, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, in the Chinese market on Thursday (June 26, 2025). The Mix Flip 2 is a clamshell style foldable smartphone and the successor to the Xiaomi Mix Flip released in July 2024. As a successor, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 brings several improvements, one of which is the battery. 

Now, the foldable phone is powered by a larger battery capacity, reaching 5,165 mAh, up from 4,780 mAh on the Xiaomi Mix Flip.

Xiaomi has not detailed the battery life of this latest foldable phone. However, when the battery runs out, the device can be charged using fast charging technology via wired at 67 watts or wirelessly at 50 watts. In addition to the battery upgrade, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is also equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset (4.32 GHz). Qualcomm's latest chipset is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

Another difference lies in the camera aspect, where the 50MP telephoto camera (f/2.0, 2x optical zoom) on the Xiaomi Mix Flip has been replaced by a 50MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2). Apart from that, the camera configuration of the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 remains the same. This phone has a 50MP main camera (f/1.7) accompanying the ultrawide camera on the back, and a 32MP selfie camera (f/2.0) housed in a punch hole cutout on the front display.

In terms of appearance, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is similar to the Xiaomi Mix Flip. When unfolded, this 199 gram phone has a thickness of 7.6mm. When folded, the device measures 15.9mm. This phone features a main display with a 6.86 inch foldable LTPO AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,224 x 2,912 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10 Plus, and a brightness level of up to 3,200 nits. There's also a secondary display that users can use when the phone is folded.

This display features a 4 inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,392 x 1,208 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a brightness level of up to 3,200 nits. Other supporting features on this phone include the Android 15 operating system (OS) with HyperOS 2 user interface (UI), a Dual Vapor Chamber cooling system, support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.

In China, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is available in Lattice Gold, Shell White, Nebula Purple, and Plum Green.
