Acer Swift Go 14 AI Review: A Lightweight Laptop for Everyday Productivity
Table of Contents

The Acer Swift GO 14 AI can be said to be one of those laptops that can support your daily needs. Especially for those of you who commute daily, Acer's Go variant is considered a lightweight laptop.
I personally had the opportunity to test and use this laptop for my daily needs for approximately two weeks. Here are a few things I noticed while using this laptop as a "daily driver." Equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, this laptop is quite comfortable for all day work.
This review hopefully answers some of Acer and AMD's claims regarding supporting daily needs. So, here is my review of the Acer Swift Go 14 AI.
Design
You can also see the distinctive Acer Swift Go 14 AI logo in the upper right corner, along with the word "Swift" as a nod to the laptop's identity. Speaking of color, the silver color of the Acer Swift Go 14 AI is one of my personal favorites, as it sets it apart from most black laptops.
One thing I personally love about this laptop is that you can open it with just one hand or finger. This is one aspect that makes it elegant and luxurious. The hinge is designed for this capability, allowing you to open the laptop with virtually no effort.
Speaking of the hinge, one thing that stands out is that it allows you to open the laptop up to 180°. Many people may have questions about this feature, but it can be very helpful when working without a desk. For example, if you're resting your laptop on your lap and your chair isn't very comfortable, you can find a fairly ideal operating position.
On the right side of this laptop, you'll find a USB-A port and a 3.5mm audio jack, which can be used for various gaming or wired headphones. On the left side, Acer offers an HDMI port, a USB-A port, and two Type-C ports for charging or general purpose use. The Type-C port is also Thunderbolt enabled.
Looking at the I/O ports, it's safe to say that this laptop is 17.95mm thick and weighs 1.3kg. With these numbers, the Acer Swift Go 14 AI is quite lightweight, making it quite comfortable for me to carry around during my daily activities.
One thing that struck me was the vapor chamber, or hot air vent, on the Acer Swift Go 14 AI, located below the screen. In other words, hot air is expelled toward the screen, and this can be quite fatal if the hot air is emitted from the screen for too long.
Screen
Speaking of the display, the Acer Swift Go 14 AI uses an OLED screen with a 90Hz response rate, and of course, the screen size reaches 14". Despite the 90Hz display, I personally still found this laptop quite comfortable when surfing the internet or watching movies or soccer matches. The brightness level reaches 400 nits, and I think that's sufficient if you want to use the laptop outdoors. However, I did find the screen quite prone to light reflection, which can be distracting when using the laptop. This often happened when I wanted to use the laptop indoors. In fact, I personally found it quite difficult to get a good picture just by taking a screenshot.
TrueBlack HDR is integrated into the display, so you'll get pitch black images when watching movies with dark tones or some horror films. This 16:10 screen ratio is comfortable enough for long periods of time, and I don't have to worry about EyeSafe 2.0°, which helps protect the user's eyes. blue light emission.
Features
As you know, this laptop runs Windows 11 Home, and it certainly includes various AI features. Therefore, you can use various AI needs for content, including the integrated Copilot+ PC. This AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 has 50 TOPS, which canYou can utilize AI for your needs. One example is the need for a webcam integrated with AI technology. For example, you can use AI to smooth out your face or blur the background, so your background looks neater during virtual conferences.
You can also utilize the motion tracker. This means the webcam will follow your position, making it easier for you to position yourself centered. This is possible thanks to the camera's AI capabilities. Furthermore, in terms of audio, there's Temporal Noise Reduction, which you can use to clear sound even in the presence of ambient noise.
Windows Hello also offers enhanced security. For example, you can register your face, allowing you to log in to your laptop without using a password or PIN. However, it's highly recommended that you use a PIN or password to enhance laptop security.
AcerSense is also a unique feature of Acer laptops. This software makes it easy for users to adjust performance settings, such as Balance, Turbo, and Silent. AcerSense also makes it easy to clear your laptop's cache, keeping it in top condition.
Finally, in terms of features, there are the speakers. The Acer Swift Go 14 AI comes with DTS X Ultra Audio technology, and the speakers are located on the bottom of the laptop. However, personally, this placement isn't to my liking. Why? Because to get the best audio experience, you need to place the laptop on a flat surface.
So, when you're without a desk or working in a place that doesn't seem to have a flat surface like a desk, and you want to listen to music, the sound isn't as good.
Performance & Battery
Productivity laptops like the Acer Swift Go 14 AI are consistently claimed by Acer and AMD to have quite strong battery life. Therefore, I used PCMark 10 to test battery life, and the results were quite impressive: the laptop lasted 12 hours and 40 minutes. Some might be wondering why this laptop can't reach 20 hours of battery life. Because when I tested it, I used the balance preset and activated several features like the backlit keyboard, Bluetooth, and screen brightness reaching over 50%. This was because I subjected the laptop to everyday performance during the testing period, allowing for more realistic results.
These numbers are considered to be quite robust laptops in its class. Considering that this laptop uses an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with an AMD Radeon 860M GPU, this laptop isn't suitable for playing heavy or AAA quality games. This laptop is targeted at users who need a power efficient everyday laptop.
However, you can still play games on this laptop. It's important to note that the games you can play on this laptop are relatively light. However, if you want to use it for work, this laptop is a reliable option.
The one I tested was the Acer Swift Go 14 AI with 1TB of storage. Therefore, you don't need to worry because this laptop has ample storage capacity, and 32GB of RAM is also sufficient to support the various activities you do with the Acer Swift Go 14 AI.
Conclusion
Overall, the Acer Swift Go 14 AI successfully demonstrates that a thin and light laptop doesn't always mean compromising on performance. With an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, a sharp 90Hz OLED display, and AI based features that support productivity, this laptop feels solid for everyday use. Its battery life is also a major selling point, with over 12 hours of use, making it suitable for users on the go. Its minimalist yet elegant design also gives a professional impression, both in the office and outdoors. However, the Acer Swift Go 14 AI is certainly not a laptop for everyone. Its limited graphics capabilities make it less than ideal for gamers or users with demanding design needs. However, for office workers, students, or light content creators who prioritize durability, efficiency, and portability, this laptop could be one of the most balanced choices in its class.
